I genuinely welcome referrals from GPs and if you’re considering referring your patient for Psychotherapy I want you to feel free to call me and ask for any information you may feel you require or to discuss any potential patient issues or concerns. Your patient is under your primary care and I respect your concern for their well being, which includes you having confidence in the referrals you make. This also ensures continuity of care.
Once therapy has commenced there may be situations where liaison between the therapist and the G.P. would be beneficial to the patient. The nature of this liaison would be discussed with the client either at assessment or during therapy, and upon patient consent being granted this would be contracted between the therapist and the patient. With the patient's consent ongoing communication with the G.P. may be deemed necessary in order to optimize continuity of care.

Practical Information About Me-
I have a Masters Degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from Turning Point Institute and Dublin City University, I am an accredited member of the IACP and I attend regular Clinical Supervision. I began my foundation training in Counselling with NUI Maynooth, completed my clinical post grad. training and Masters Degree at Turning Point Institute and DCU.
The DCU/TPTI MSc is one of the leading training courses in Ireland and is recognised by the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP), the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP) and the European Association for Integrative Psychotherapy (EAIP).
I am insured, accredited and will meet the forthcoming new regulatory standards to be set by Minister Harris meeting the standard for the profession of both Psychotherapist & Counsellor.
